SELLING

Leaving the Fields of Long Grove

2418 SQ/FT - 4 BR, 3.5 BTH Single family home with HOA

Claudine and Mary planned to move from their home in Long Grove, Illinois to Austin, Texas to be closer to Claudine’s family. Their newly renovated house was listed with another agent and it sat on the market for almost a year, putting their life plans were on hold. This is what they had to say about my approach to listing their beautiful home:

“We can honestly say, Cara gave us our life back. Before we met her, we went through a year of not being able to move forward. When a close friend recommended Cara, we hit it off with her immediately. We were first time sellers and she was so warm and patient with us. We really appreciated her hands-on approach to selling our home.

Her strategy was to have an in-person open house, not just to bring in potential buyers, but also to create awareness with other agents about this unique HOA community within Long Grove. While each lot in the Fields of Long Grove is a quarter acre, smaller than the average Long Grove lot, the HOA collectively owns acres of surrounding forest, fields and ponds. It’s a lush, beautiful and privately owned nature preserve with walking trails and a community garden, just 50 miles outside of the city that many people don’t know about.

Cara has a great eye! She was very involved with the staging and worked closely with the real estate photographer. She came to every showing—with a cake and her lucky cake stand in hand—and never used a lock box. We accepted a great offer just weeks after we listed with her! Having an experienced agent who’s strategic and proactive like Cara is extremely important. Plus, she’s just a lovely person to work with, which makes one of the most stressful times in one’s life much, much easier.

She really goes above and beyond for her clients. We know this first hand—after one particular showing, the weather had taken a turn for the worse and our town had a tornado warning with sirens alerting everyone to take shelter. She knew we weren’t home, so she drove back to our house to put our cat in our basement! We couldn't believe she would potentially risk her life to make sure our beloved pet was safe. But that’s Cara. She’s really the best—as an agent and as a person. Even after we moved and bought a new house in Texas, Cara sent us a lovely house warming present. If we decide to move back to the Chicago area in a few years, Cara will be one of the first people we call!
